Bed and Breaklfast accommodation is ideal for walkers on the move, offering more frequent places to stop for the night since many B&Bs are not based in towns but on farms along the Cotswold Way itself. In this way, walkers can give themselves much greater power in deciding how far to walk in a given day, covering as much or as little ground as they wish depending on what else there is to see and do.

The majority of walkers undertaking to journey the entire length of the Cotswold Way opt for Bed and Breakfast accommodation at a guesthouse at some point on their journey - possibly mixing this with the odd night at a larger establishment.

Most will tell you that, after a day in the fresh air previously and the prospect of another to come, breakfast takes on a new importance and so starting the day with fresh home-cooked food is a must! Energy levels will need replenishing for the next section of the path.

In the evening, the comfort and hospitality offered by local Bed and Breakfast hosts allows a slow and relaxing unwinding period during which to reflect on the day and to enjoy the sunset. A good night's sleep is sure to follow!

Many of the listed Bed and Breakfast and guesthouse accommodation providers have years of experience in catering for walkers and visitors exploring the Cotswold Way. You will find them a great source of local information, not all of which is available in guide books, such as personal recommendations on places to eat and the best pubs along the next section of path.

Some Bed and Breaksfast accommodation providers offer an evening meal but others don't. Almost all of the villages and towns along the Cotswold Way have a pub serving fresh hot food so "marching on your stomach" will not be a problem. Larger towns offer restaurant or café facilities in addition to takeaway restaurants providing a choice of what and where to eat.

Adventurous walkers may prefer to "turn up" and take what Bed and Breakfast or guesthouse accommodation they can find. More often than not, this will be successful but we'd recommend talking to some of our directory members to get a sense of how busy they are likely to be during the period of your visit and to plan accordingly.
