Cotswold Way Accommodation

The Cotswold Way

Birdlip

Birdlip is a typical unspoiled Cotswold village where both refreshment and accommodation is available. The village nestles at the foot of the escarpment at the end of a particularly stunning section of the Cotswold Way National Trail.

Along the Cotswold Way, between Birdlip and Crickley Hill, can be found the remains of a neolithic round barrow. The interred remains of three bodies were discovered during mining excavations. One of these, a woman believed to be aged about 35 years, had valuable grave goods with her. These included bronze bowls, a silver brooch, and a fine bronze mirror which can be seen at Gloucester Museum.
