Cold Ashton

Is another small village filled with interesting architecture. Formerly part of the Bath Abbey estate and later a magnet for local wealthy landowners, Cold Ashton's buildings continue to reflect the wealth and style of their original owners. Of particular note is the manor house, partially hidden from view behind its grand gateway. Cold Ashton church is well worth a visit as it contains a very rare oak pulpit complete with 16th Century carved panels.

Cold Ashton, in the Cotswold Way

For those walkers who have travelled from Chipping Campden, Cold Ashton marks the beginning of the end of the Cotswold Way as Bath is just six miles distant now. Food and accommodation can be found at Cold Ashton as well as a warm welcome, whatever the weather!
