Winchcombe
Winchcombe is a thriving Cotswold town offering a great deal to see and do. The town itself is well equipped with shops and amenities as well as a good selection of accommodation on offer.
For railway buffs, Winchcombe has a station on the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire steam railway which is reviving a section of the GWR line. Round trips can be taken from the station and visitors are welcome to explore the Railway Museum. View the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Railway website for train times and prices throughout the year as well as any special events.
Winchcombe also has a museum dedicated to the town's history along with an impressive collection of police uniforms. The Folk and Police museum is open for a nominal entry fee between April and October (Mon - Sat) 10am to 4.30pm
The remains of Hailes Abbey are to be found at Winchcombe. The ruins are open for most of the year, though opening times vary, and there is a museum containing some medieval artefacts from the site. Hailes Abbey
is an English Heritage site.

An equally important historic site is Sudeley Castle which dates back to the reign of Ethelred the Unready. This grand attraction caters for families with facilities for younger visitors including a play area. Sudely holds a full programme of events so we'd recommend visiting their website to check admission prices and to see what's on during your visit.
